Apple Prepares Dedicated Macro Button for iPhone 13 Pro Camera

The ultra wide camera on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max has macro capabilities to take pictures of objects from a very close distance. Macro mode will be automatically activated based on object distance detection. Sometimes this macro mode is active when you don’t want it.

Users can only turn it off alias switch to normal shooting mode by opening Settings to turn off macro mode. To overcome this hassle,

Apple is reportedly going to add a special macro toggle alias button in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max camera applications, so users can turn on or turn off macro mode more practically.

Aaron Zollo from the zollotech YouTube channel revealed, in this version of the operating system, the iPhone 13 Pro camera application will display a macro button with a flower icon on the bottom side of the screen. Its function is none other than to turn on and turn off macro mode.

“As soon as you approach an object, this flower icon will appear. Then you can turn off macros or activate them so you can take pictures from very close range,” Zollo said in a demonstration video of the iOS 15.2 feature that he uploaded to YouTube.

With this toggle, macro mode can also be locked to keep it active, so that the cellphone camera doesn’t switch back and forth from macro mode to normal mode and vice versa.

In addition to the macro icon in the camera app, iOS 15.2 is also equipped with a number of other feature enhancements such as Legacy Contacts, missing device scanning via Find My, and Communcation Safety updates.

There are also new features such as App Privacy Report, improvements to the Emergency SOS feature, and an overhauled Notification Summary view. Currently, iOS 15.2 itself is still in beta and is being tested by developers. It is not known when this version of the iOS update will be widely tested by iPhone users.
