7 EASY WAYS TO SOLVE UNREADABLE SD CARD

SD card is one of the important components on a smartphone. The existence of this additional memory will certainly be very helpful, especially for smartphones that have a relatively small internal storage capacity (ROM).

Of course, with the external memory it can help users store more data without burdening internal storage. No half-hearted, some SD card manufacturers even offer the size of the hard drive that we find on computers and laptops, up to 2TB.

However, sometimes there are some problems experienced by users regarding this SD card, especially when using a large capacity. Well, on this occasion, we will provide some easy ways to solve an unreadable SD card.

1. Clean SD Card Brass

Although it sounds simple, this method has proven to be effective. Dirt or dust will be very likely to stick to the external memory brass that we use. Therefore, this is the first step that we really have to take to solve an unreadable SD card.

How to clean it is also quite easy, because you can use an eraser, tissue, cloth, or cotton. Clean slowly and do it in the same direction so that the cleaning process is more effective.

2. Try On Another Smartphone

This second step is actually quite simple, because we only need to try it on another device first.  But make no mistake, because some smartphones are not compatible with some SD cards, or only support up to a certain size.

It wouldn’t hurt to try it on another device, because of course there’s a chance that the SD card you’re using is working.

3. Check SD Card Via Laptop

In addition to trying it on another smartphone, you can also check the SD card through a laptop by inserting it into a card reader. This method is also fairly easy, but for your laptop that does not have a card reader slot, you will need the help of tools.

After inserting the SD card into the card reader, open My Computer, right-click on the SD Card, click Properties, select Tools, then press Check.  Wait a moment, because your laptop will check if there is an error on the SD card that you have.

4. Use a Different File Manager Application

Another easy way that you can do is to use the help of a different file manager application.  Believe it or not, but we have experienced an error when using the default file manager of the smartphone.

This is worth a try, considering that there are so many file manager applications available for you to use.

5. Wrong SD Card Position

In addition to the methods above, making sure that the SD card is positioned correctly can also affect it.  Even though it sounds trivial, by shifting the position of the SD card even a little, it will certainly affect the SD card can be read or not. Simply put, you have to remove the card, and put it back in properly.

6. Try Fix With App Help

If the previous method didn’t work, maybe you can try fixing the unreadable SD card with the help of an application. Based on information from its own website, DiskInternals Uneraser is an application to fix an SD card not being read, or errors.

Its use is also fairly easy, because you only need to download this application first on a computer or laptop. After that, you can insert the unreadable SD card with the help of a card reader. Run the application, and there will be several options to fix it.

7. Format SD Card

If all the methods above don’t work, another way you can do is to format the SD card. Formatting or deleting all data on the SD card is the last way you can easily do it.

Make sure the SD card is corrupted before doing this step, because deleted data can’t be recovered.
