Should You Safely Remove When Unplugging the Flash Drive from the Computer?

When you want to remove the flash from the computer, most people do a ‘safety remove’ or ‘eject’ to feel more secure.
A number of people claim, if you don’t do this, the flash or computer will be damaged. Worse yet, the data in the flash may be lost.
Even so, not a few people do not believe in this feature. Many think that if you want to remove the flash, you don’t need to bother doing a ‘safety remove’.
Is that right? Quoting Merdeka.com, Tuesday (4/8/2020), the computer operating system actually considers a flash drive to be a trustworthy object, aka a drive that doesn’t suddenly change or disappear.
When reading or writing a file on a drive, the operating system assumes the drive will always be accessible, not suddenly lost in the middle of reading or writing something on it.
It renders the drive suddenly inaccessible while files are being written, hence the data will be lost forever.
Nowadays times have changed, where flash drives or flash drives were created to be plugged in and removed by mobile.
The operating system has adapted to this. But even though we have adapted, if we remove the flash while the file is being copied, the file will still be damaged or lost.
But when we’re not doing anything to the flash drive, it is quite safe to unplug it.
The ‘safely remove’ feature is just a warning to the operating system so that unwanted things don’t happen.
This includes interrupting the writing process to the drive, warning various programs on the computer that the drive will soon be lost and the program will ‘take action’.
It also reminds us as users if the program fails to take action on the files that are still stored on the drive.
You can of course unplug it at any time, if the drive is not in use. It really depends only on how various programs on your computer ‘rescue’ files that may fail to save when unplugging them.
Most files will still be saved if you re-save with a different name on your computer’s original drive, or ‘Save As’.
So, even though actually doing ‘safely remove’ is not really important, you can start to get used to it. This is important considering the loss of data is a small doomsday for us.
