NASA Seeks to Build a Network of the Internet on the Moon

NASA has selected Nokia to work together to build a 4G mobile networks the first in the natural satellite of the Earth. It has been announced telecommunication companies in Finland on Monday.
Research industry US company, Bell Labs, offers the equipment to NASA to help build a network of months, with the aim to launch at the end of 2022.
“The solution that has been designed specifically to withstand the harsh conditions of launch and landing on the moon, and to operate in the conditions of outer space to the extreme,” said Nokia in a press release.
NASA believes that the exploration will be a maximum when supported by network internet. Through the internet it later, all of the astronauts in the moon can easily do the exploration. The reason for in the month they certainly will be a lot of move to get the latest information about the moon.

For NASA LunaNet is the solution of the slow communication and transfer of data from the moon to the earth and vice versa. Mentioned Screenrant, the current data transfer is still relying on a space satellite or antenna ground-based. Each two-way communication between the moon and earth takes place through a predetermined schedule. This makes communication and data transfer may be limited.
Through the program, Artemis, NASA plans to send astronauts to the moon by 2024 – for the first time in five decades – is followed by a human presence that is “sustainable” in the year 2028. To make the internet network on the moon, NASA will build a network of nodes that exist in outer space. LunaNet will use the network access nodes that exist on the moon, satellites, and ground stations that the network is running well.

When used each node of the funds to save and divert peralanan data to get the optimal path so that it can be well accepted in the earth and vice versa on the moon. Be the astronaut in the moon and the engineers on earth need not bear soft information is processed first as the information intact through the earth station.

“LunaNet is the initial step to build a network the internet the solar system,” wrote NASA.
Reported CNBC, the U.S. space Agency has selected SpaceX’s Elon Musk, Blue Origin and Dynetics belonging to Jeff Bezos, less well-known companies, to develop the lander humans will land astronauts on the moon.
Nokia said that the 4G network will enable the astronauts to perform a number of activities including make voice and video calls, send important data, and deploy the payload. He plans to eventually launch 5G in the month also.
NASA said in a blog post that they give Nokia $ 14.1 million for the project, one of the many institutions which are called both “the tipping point” which focuses on the exploration of the moon.
“This system can support communication the surface of the moon at a distance that is far away, increase speed, and provide more reliability than current standards,” said NASA about the mobile network is proposed.
The agreement was a victory for Nokia, which has been competing with Huawei of China and Ericsson of Sweden to get a contract 5G profitable.
It also comes when the mobile phone operator is trying to convince people to switch to 5G, which promises download speeds are much faster and lower latency. Apple recently revealed the iPhone 12, the ranks of their first mobile phone that supports 5G.
