Kemkominfo Releases Website g20.org to Support Indonesia’s G20

Presidency
In order to welcome Indonesia’s G20 Presidency, the government launched the official portal g20.org on Wednesday this week, in conjunction with the opening of the series of activities.
Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate said, with the start of the G20 Indonesia Presidency, the G20.org leadership portal was also launched.
“In this case, it will be managed by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. We hope that later this portal will also become a reference for information on all G20 activities and activities,” said Johnny.
Quoted from a press release, Friday (12/3/2021), the Minister of Communication and Information revealed that on the website, multilingual access will be provided according to the language used by representatives of G20 members.
So, said Johnny, the portal will not only be available in English.
“We will prepare this later, still one year ahead. We will follow what is at least, at least the same as the websites of the previous G20,” said Johnny.
According to the Minister of Communication and Information, the public is also invited to understand and amplify the key message of Recover Together, Recover Stronger from the Indonesian Presidency.
This is what also underlies the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to provide an information portal, which can be used as a reference for the Chairperson of Indonesia in the G20 Forum.
Johnny added that there are more than 150 activities in the series of G20 Presidencies which will be held in nine cities in Indonesia, with the peak being the Leader Summit at the end of October 2022.
In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Information is also seeking to support 5G experience and a strong 4G telecommunication network infrastructure, in every important G20 meeting.
“So we hope that the implementation of the G20 can run smoothly and be supported by adequate information and communication technology,” he said.
3 Priority Issues at G20
Meanwhile, the government prioritizes three priority issues in the G20 Presidency. They are inclusive health issues, digital transformation, and energy transmission.
Regarding the issue of digital transformation, Johnny stated that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics will discuss cross-cutting issues in the Digital Economy Working Group by emphasizing three priority agendas.
“There are three subjects that Indonesia will bring to the DEWG, namely digital connectivity and post-Covid-19 recovery, digital literacy and cross-border data flow and free-flow data with trust,” said the Minister of Communication and Information.
“Currently there are three issues that we will present in the discussion during the G20 Digital Economy Working Group session,” he added.
According to the Minister of Communication and Information, in the Sherpa Track Forum, Finance Track, Engagement Group and other Working Groups, the issue of digital transformation is also a subject of discussion.
The discussion was about digital transformation in the financial and banking sectors, central banks, trade and e-commerce, health, and education.
