SANDIAGA ARTICLE DRIVES BBI CAMPAIGN FOR DIGITAL MARKETING

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, has encouraged the digitization of Indonesian tourism and creative economy actors to the e-commerce platform through the Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) national movement. As is known, the government has re-launched the 2021 BBI National Movement as an effort to support domestic products, MSMEs, and the national economy. Sandiaga said, Indonesia is the largest e-commerce market in the Southeast Asia region. However, local creative economy products have not dominated the e-commerce market in the country. He admitted that he had developed a strategy with the Minister of Trade, M Lutfi, to improve the quality and level of onboarding for local creative economy players through a number of programs and incentives. “We are preparing truly innovative programs so that they can provide incentives to MSMEs, especially those engaged in the creative economy sector so that they can be onboarding in e-commerce,” said Sandiaga. He said, throughout 2020, there were 3.7 million business units that were digitized in the BBI program. This figure is higher than the target for digitizing business units set in the 2020 BBI program, which is 2 million business units. That way, a total of 11.7 MSMEs have gone digital from the previous 8 million MSMEs. This must be followed up to increase the digitization of MSME actors and Indonesia’s creative economy. From a total of 64 million MSMEs in Indonesia, the digitization target can be increased from 11.7 million to 30 million MSMEs by 2023. Sandiaga assesses that aspects of innovation, adaptation, and collaboration with various relevant stakeholders play an important role in efforts to revive the tourism sector and creative economy affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, Sandiaga also revealed the importance of using big data in policy making and collaborating with e-commerce platforms. Moreover, the penetration of internet users in Indonesia has reached 73.7 percent or around 196.7 million people,” said Sandiaga. Sandiaga also said that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will use its social media platforms to promote the BBI program, tourist destinations in Indonesia. and the importance of implementing K4 (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) or CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) health protocols.
