reasons we should become ui/ux designer

The Key to An Application’s Success

Try to remember how often we feel so happy in accessing and benefiting from various applications on our smartphones. Starting from Whatsapp, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram to Gojek / Grab.

Why did that happen?

The main factor is of course because the application has succeeded in being the solution to our problems. But there is one other very crucial factor, without which no one will want to use the application. Namely: The application must be very, very, very easy to use.

UI/UX is here as a solution

The area that focuses on designing the appearance of an application to be as comfortable as possible and as easy as possible for users is UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience). And the person who does it is called a UI/UX Designer.

How Does a UI/UX Designer Work?

Conduct research to understand user problems and needs (User Experience)
Maybe you think the main job of a UI/UX Designer is to do more design. Unfortunately not. In fact, the most important ability and the first thing to do is how to do research, always have a curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand what the real problem of your users is.

Pouring research results into a form of application display (User Interface)
When you really understand the problem and the solution you want to make, pouring it into a display / design form is very easy. You can make it by drawing directly from your hand, you can use Photoshop, or other tools like MarvelApp.

Test & repeat until the user is satisfied
What’s interesting is that when the display design is finished, it doesn’t necessarily result in the user being immediately comfortable and satisfied. You must first test your design whether it can solve the user’s problem, and whether it is in accordance with the “Goal” that your boss wants or not. The term is Usability Testing.

Continue to solve other problems
One problem is solved, then the UI/UX Designer will continue to solve other problems. For example, why do many users watch videos but how come no one wants to interact with other users? So you have to solve the problem.

Benefits of Companies That Prioritize UI/UX

Users / customers will be more comfortable
This is for sure. The more companies prioritize user comfort and convenience, the users / customers will be more comfortable in using the application. The more comfortable it is, the more often and satisfied you will be in using the application.

Company profits will increase
For example, there is a company that wants to sell a new model of shoes that are waterproof. Because this company prioritizes the UI/UX of the website for sales. Finally the company will benefit from the website
