Network Communication Technology
The Communication Technology Network is a series of interconnections between interconnected technologies. The development of technology is growing rapidly. In everything that is done by everyone, it will be closely related to technology. Significant technological developments make changes that begin to penetrate in every thing explored and explored by technology.
-The development of computers, data systems, in hardware and software, to the development of communications. With such developments make humans adapt and adjust along with these developments.
Technology is also endemic to the existing information network, thus making the development of communication experiencing changes in the use of technology. Without realizing it, the development of the existing network is increasingly advanced and it is felt that it is experiencing rapid development. In the development of Indonesian technology, the development of technology in the network is growing rapidly and has begun to be famous until it is embedded in the hearts of users. The more there is to understand, the more there is to know and the more to change.
-Technology developments in the network have been explored by well-known manufacturers, and have even developed their own network. With things like this, making the competition in the world of communication and technology more interesting. Not only that, the existing network has even been accessed by many and is starting to be known by many people without any publication.
Technology Network
A computer network is a collection of computers, printers, and other equipment that are connected to each other. Information and data move through cables, enabling computer network users to exchange documents and data, print on the same printer and use hardware/software connected to the network together.
-Each computer, printer, or peripheral connected to the network is called a node. A computer network can have two, tens, thousands, or even millions of nodes. A network usually consists of 2 or more computers that are interconnected with each other, and share resources such as CDROMs, printers, exchange files, or allow to communicate with each other electronically. The connected computer may be connected to cable media, telephone lines, radio waves, satellites, or infrared rays.
-E-commerce, on the other hand, is defined as mediated transactions over computer networks that involve the transfer of ownership or rights to use goods or services. For example, when you buy a song from another electronic music store on a social network, you are engaging in e-commerce.
-All computer network equipment that is interconnected is known as a network (network). A computer network can be a wide area network (WAN), a local area network (LAN) or a combination of both.
-Wide area network WAN covers a wide geographical area with various communication facilities such as long distance telephone services, satellite transmission and submarine cables. WANs generally involve a host of computers and various types of communication hardware and software. Examples of WANs are interregional banking networks and flight booking systems.
Local Area Networks cover a limited area, but this distinction begins to change with the wider scope of Local Area Network coverage. Local Area Networks generally connect up to hundreds of microcomputers all located in a relatively small geographic area, such as a single building or several adjacent buildings. Companies are interested in Local Area Networks because Local Area Networks allow multiple users to share software, data and equipment. There are 3 types of networks, namely:
Local Area Network
•A Local Area Network, is a network bounded by a relatively small area, generally limited by an environmental area such as an office in a building, or a school, and usually not far from about 1 sq km. Some local area network configuration models, one computer is usually made into a file server. Which is used to store software that regulates network activity, or as software that can be used by computers connected to the network. The computers connected to the network are usually called workstations.
Usually the capabilities of the workstation are lower than the file server and have other applications on the hard disk in addition to applications for the network. Most Local Area Networks use cable media to connect one computer to another.
Metropolitan area network
•A Metropolitan Area Network, usually covering an area larger than a Local Area Network, for example between regions within a province. In this case the network connects several small networks into a larger area environment, for example: a bank network when several branch offices of a bank in a large city are connected to each other. For example, BCA in all areas of Malang or Jakarta.
Large-scale area network
•Large-scale area network is a network whose scope usually already uses satellite facilities or submarine cables as an example of the entire BANK BCA network in Indonesia or in other countries. Using a large-scale area network facility, a bank in Bandung can contact its branch office in Hong Kong, in just a few minutes.
Protocol
Protocols are the rules that govern communication between several computers on a network, these rules include instructions that apply to ways or methods of accessing a network, physical topology, cable types and data transfer speeds.
The known protocols are as follows:
- Ethernet
- Local Talk
- Token Ring
- FDDI
- ATM
Ethernet
The Ethernet protocol is by far the most widely used, Ethernet uses an access method called CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection). This system explains that each computer looks into the wires of the network before sending anything into it. If the network is inactive or clean the computer will transmit data, if there is another transmission in the cable, the computer will wait and will retry transmission when the network is clean. sometimes two computers transmit at the same time, when this happens, each computer will back off and will wait for a random opportunity to transmit data again. This method is known as coalition, and will not affect the transmission speed of the network.
LocalTalk
LocalTalk is a network protocol developed by Apple Computer, Inc. for Macintosh computers. The method used by LocalTalk is CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance). Similar to CSMA/CD.. LocalTalk adapters and special twisted pair cables can be used to connect multiple computers via the serial port. The Macintosh Operating System allows peer-to-peer network connections without the need for additional special applications. The LocalTalk protocol can be used for straight-line, star, or tree models using twisted pair cables. Lack of the most striking is the speed of the transmissions. The transmission speed is only 230 Kbps.
