The Google Meet video conferencing application has just received a feature update so that it can now accommodate up to 500 meeting participants at once.
Based on the information listed on the Google blog, this update is rolling out starting November 16 and is expected to roll out evenly over the next few days. However, not all Google Meet users can get this new feature offered by Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In detail, Google mentions that the capacity increase in Google Meet will only apply to users of Google Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Education Plus service plans. Business Starter, Frontline, Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, and G Suite Basic users are still limited to only accommodating 100 meeting participants.
Slightly different, users of Business Standard, Enterprise Essentials, Essentials, G Suite Business, and Nonprofits services can hold meetings with a slightly larger participant capacity, which is up to 150 users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, customers who take the Teaching and Learning Upgrade package are entitled to benefits so that they are able to hold meetings with up to 250 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to increasing participant capacity on the Google Meet service, Google has also added a live streaming feature that allows users to broadcast live videos to 100,000 viewers at once.
The live streaming feature in Google Meet itself will only be available to Enterprise Plus, Enterprise Standard, Education Plus, and Teaching and Learning Upgrade customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
